"Solar Energy" Investigation 2 pages 19-24 teaches that water takes up and releases heat slowly compared to earth materials, a concept that aids in understanding the tempering effect of the ocean (NOTE: these pages were not cited by the publisher for this standard). |
Aspects that do not help student learning:
The California Science Framework (page 75) describes many important influences of the ocean and how the water cycle moves energy in addition to water. Some of these concepts are not well developed in the text.
