6b Develop a testable question.

Holistic Rating: Moderate coverage of this standard.
Students investigate many questions in the Grade 5 FOSS modules. They gain the most experience with developing their own questions in the Choosing Your Own Investigation sections, the last part of the final module investigation. In addition, some of the Investigations include other opportunities ("Solar Energy" Investigation 4 page 15; "Food and Nutrition" Investigation 1 pages 12-15 and Investigation 3 pages 11-13; and "Variables" Investigation 1 page 16).

Aspects that do not help student learning:
In general, cited Investigations do not teach content in Grade 5 Physical, Life, and Earth Science standards.
