CABAP Key Leaders are essential in building and maintaining our statewide network. To facilitate their work, CABAP provides Key Leaders with several key resources.
Key Leaders for CABAP will:
- Be registered electronically in the NSTA database. Utilize the NSTA database for electronic communications with the CABAP leadership, other Key Leaders, and their Points of Contact. Disseminate information received via NSTA’s electronic outreach system.
- Recruit Points of Contact (POCs) for at least 20-30 schools in their area, and make sure they are entered in the CABAP network.
- Keep their POC information in the CABAP network current, replacing POCs if they move, or recruiting more than one POC per school.
- Disseminate information and resources received through CABAP’s electronic and print outreach systems; and materials from CDE, CSTA and other CABAP participating organizations to their POCs.
- Be encouraged and assisted to access the statewide online resources.
Key Leaders for CABAP will receive:
- A $500 Honorarium, after registering at least a minimum assigned number of Points of Contact (POCs) in the NSTA database.
- A certificate citing their role as a California/NSTA Building a Presence Key Leader.
- Science education resources for professional use, including copies of Dr. Art’s Guide to Planet Earth; Strategic Science Teaching, EdThoughts: What We Know About Science Teaching and Learning, Inquiry and the National Science Education Standards, Making Connections: A Guide to Implementing Science Standards, ENC Focus quarterly publication, and By Your Own Design: A Teacher's Professional Learning Guide.
