Guide to Google Penguin 4 Update
When we refer to Google Penguin, we mean updates that have the purpose of decreasing search engine ranking of websites that violate Google’s webmaster guidelines. In other words, its guiding principle is to penalize websites using manipulative techniques to achieve high rankings in the search engine traffic. Here they are striving to place content as the key, and if your website has great content then it will be recognized over those with little or content with spam. Web pages that manipulate visitors and mislead them by using repeated unrelated phrases, and send them to a different page, will be penalized.
Penguin 4 however was released for all countries and languages at the same time. What this means is that wherever your location is, you website will be subjected to these guidelines. Penguin 4 guidelines are the same but then they are now applied real-time. What this implies is that page rankings may change each time Google updates the information about the page and other pages linked to it. You will notice the positive and negative impacts of your actions faster. After being penalized that your webmaster does a great job in its improvement and the removal of harmful links, this real-time algorithm will help you recover from the penalty faster.
Also, unlike the previous updates, this new version has made google algorithm become part of its core algorithm and not a separate filter anymore.
In other words, this algorithms focused not on the toxic links on specific pages rather than on whole websites.
SEO specialists will be affected by this new guidelines because it will be difficult for them to track micro-penalties so they have to audit all important subdomains and specific web pages on a regular basis.
Another downside is because you will never be informed if your website is penalized. There will just be indications or signs that you were penalized like a sharp drop in organic traffic or declines positions from some or all of your keywords, including the branded ones.
But on the other hand, because the updated algorithm allows you to see the results of your actions quickly, the recovery process becomes faster.
This means that it is important to constantly monitor your position in SERPs. Setting up regular email alerts to stay informed of any position changes is a good way of keeping you informed.
Because the new Penguin takes a granular approach you need to keep your backlink profile healthy and clean and conduct a deep backlink audit of your entire website. So now it is very important to audit backlnks for each important subdomain and subdivision of your website. What this means is that you might have to conduct separate audit for each of the different language version of your website.
